Menstruation (bleeding phase)-

The menstrual phase is the first phase of the menstrual cycle, usually of 4 to 7 days, and is the stage when women have a period.

If a woman is not pregnant, then only the menstruation phase of the mc happens.

During this phase, the eggs that failed to fertilize during the woman’s previous cycle begin to exit the body.

The thick layer of the uterus which helps in conceiving is no longer needed, then it goes out through the vagina.

During this stage of menstruation, blood, mucus, and tissue emanate from the uterus of women.

That’s why sometimes this step is also called the bleeding phase.

Follicular phase-

The follicular phase begins after the menstrual phase is over.

During this phase, egg formation starts again in the ovary.

The follicular phase is about 8 days long, and usually lasts from the sixth to the 14th day of the menstrual cycle.

During this time, many eggs are prepared in the woman’s ovaries, out of which one most healthy egg is left, and the rest is absorbed by the body.

Ovulation phase-

This stage usually starts after the 14th day, during this phase, a healthy egg comes out of the ovary into the fallopian tube.

The fallopian tube is where the egg meets the sperm.

If sperm is present in the fallopian tube, then the process of pregnancy starts with the union of eggs and sperm.

And if sperm is not present in the fallopian tube, the egg dies, or dissolve after 24 hours.

The thing to note here is that the sperm in the fallopian tube can live for up to 5 days,

So even if the woman has made physical relations even five days before the egg enters the fallopian tube, the pregnancy process will be completed.

Luteal phase-

The luteal phase lasts about 14 days, and starts on the 15th day. ( if the menstrual cycle is 28 days)

The thing to note here is that the luteal phase comes only if the woman is not pregnant.

in this stage the corpus luteum, which is the remnants of the follicle break down.
