History of NCERT

 Before 1961 the government of India was running 7 educational government institutions.

Later the government of India decided to combine these 7 educational institutes. Thus on 1st September 1961, the National Council of educational research and training (NCERT) was established.

  • Some people complain that these NCERT books are politically biased
  • Sometimes NCERT textbooks got allegations of historical revisionism
