BDS meaning or full form is Bachelor of dental surgery.
BDS i.e. Bachelor of Dental Surgery is the second most famous course in the medical field after MBBS.
It is a 5-year undergraduate course during which everything about teeth is taught.
During this 5-year course, 4 years of practical and theoretical methods are taught in detail about teeth and related diseases, the final one year being a compulsory internship.

After doing the BDS course, the student gets a doctorate and is allowed to treat all types of dental diseases.
The Dental Council of India, or DCI, regulates dental courses in India.

Eligibility for BDS course
In India, the Bachelor of Dental Surgery course can be done after 12th ie intermediate.
Students must have a minimum 50% mark in intermediate with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subject.
Only 40% of marks are required for Reserve category students.
The student should be at least 17 years of age at the time of BDS admission and should qualify in the NEET entrance exam.
BDS admission procedure
It is necessary to qualify the NEET entrance exam for BDS admission.
NEET qualifying students get the opportunity to choose any of the favourite colleges from colleges across India through the counselling process.
During counselling, most of the students try to get admission in information dental college, because the fees of government dental college are low, while the fees of private dental college are very high.
The fee for this course is up to ₹ 100000 every year for a government college, the same for private colleges from 200000 to ₹ 300000 annually.
