IAS meaning or full form is Indian Administrative Service.

History of IAS
The history of the IAS is very old and was started by the British in 1858 as the Imperial Civil Service.
After independence, it came to be known as Indian Administrative Services from 1950.
Eligibility-
- Any Indian student who has completed graduation in any discipline can appear in the UPSC Civil Services Exam to be conducted for IAS and other 24 posts.
- The age of the student should be at least 21 years and a maximum of 32 years, here the maximum age relaxation has been given from 3 to 5 years according to different categories.
- A student who belongs to a general category can apply for the maximum 6 times.
The same OBC students 9 times and no limit has been kept for SC-ST students.

What is the salary of an IAS officer?
IAS officer’s salary starts at a basic of ₹ 56100 initially, and as the post progresses, the salary also increases.
Above this basic salary DA, TA, HRA is also given.
So if someone joins as an IAS officer right now, they will get an initial salary above ₹ 100000 in hand.
IAS Officers also get good salary increments along with post-increment, if any IAS officer is currently with more than 30 years experience, then his basic salary is above two lakhs after the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission.
